The Skanx's self-titled mini-album is now available to download from 208 Records' site for a very modest £3, including artwork by band members Wayne Maslin and Simon Beck in PDF format. The downloads will not be available from other sources until late February, so get onto 208's website now! The album is also available on CD at gigs or by special order directly from the band. Skanx recording sessions a success! The Skanx have just finished the second of two recording sessions for their debut EP, to be released by 208 Records. The first session involved the band's rhythm section, plus guide vocals by Lori and Wayne and guide horn parts. As planned, five original songs were recorded, including percussion and Stylophone overdubs. This recording also marked the band's first use of a vintage Wurlitzer electric piano. The second session consisted of overdubbing final vocal parts and the complete five-piece horn section onto the previously recorded backing tracks. These recordings are the band's first to feature the remarkable vocal dexterity of vocalist/MC Wayne. The next and final stage will be the mixing of the recording to stereo prior to release.
